Plantronics USB problems

September 18, 2007

After updating to MAC OS 10.4.10 my USB Plantronics headset dead in the act. No microphone!

Some searching in Apple support website… Finally I found the solution:

Products affected

  • Mac OS X 10.4.10
  • Plantronics USB audio headset, microphone, or audio adapter

Solution

  1. Make sure the device is connected to a USB port.
  2. Open Audio MIDI Setup, which is in the Utilities folder within the Applications folder.
  3. Make sure the Default Input pop-up menu (under System Settings) is set to the device.
  4. Choose your device from the “Properties For” pop-up menu.
  5. In the bottom right left area of the window (under Audio Output Input), deselect the “Mute” checkbox.

Working !

Fuji and me

September 17, 2007

3 years ago I decided to buy the Fuji S3 Pro. After a year with a Nikon D70 and excellent results, I had the oportunity to test the Fuji S3 Pro and I found some features that convince me to buy one of this bodies: extended dynamic range and zero noise.

Using a technology called SuperCCD SRII sensor, the camera can produce images with 12.34 millon pixels !!!

The camera suits all my requirements and give me a lot of options when using studio lights. Nikkor lenses and some Nikon stuff are compatible with the S3 body.

Now, I take my camera every where and I decided to make it my “travel” camera. A Nikon Coolpix 2500 is my “pocket” camera.

Time out

September 15, 2007

Working every day in front of a computer can cause some eyestrain and stress. Is important to have good light conditions and a bright and clear monitor to help reduce tiredness.

Recently I found an application for Mac called Time out who is helping me to rest my eyes and to take a break. Every hour a message stops my computer session and convince me to weak up and move (there is a button available to interrupt or postpone break session)

Interesting tool with some features, easy to install and best off all: is freeware.

Testing my web page in IE

September 14, 2007

As a Mac user, I always figure out how my web page will look in a PC using Internet Explorer 6 – 7 …

I installed Parallels Desktop in my Intel Mac, so I had the opportunity to run Win XP and IE 7. This “virtual machine” works like a charm and gave me some tools needed to my daily work.

After making some google search, I found an interesting tool online with a render engine…
